Keevil “The Captain” Burgess is the Programme Director of Power 95, “The Big Station”.  He studied in Atlanta, Georgia and in California, residing in the San Francisco Bay area for a number of years before returning to Bermuda.  He worked in the area of education as a counselor before entering his very successful career in radio broadcasting.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operation of Power 95, he hosts the station’s early morning show, 6 a.m. through 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.  His music includes a blend of R&B, Socca, Reggae and Jazz – a bit of everything to satisfy his early morning drive audience.  He is respected and loved by his many listeners who are motivated to get out of bed and on with their day’s activities as they tune in to his pleasant yet captivating voice and keen sense of humor.  He is a quick-thinking, no- nonsense type of guy, known for his professionalism and ability to conduct fair, straight-forward and interesting interviews during his on-air presentation.  His sensitivity is also apparent as he accommodates his listeners’ requests in celebration of their special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays.  With his personal touch, one often gets the feeling that he actually knows each listener.  He appeals to a very broad section of the community, including the young and old…providing the information you need and the music you want.  He is in constant demand for voice-overs and personal appearances. 
Keevil has earned awards as Bermuda’s top radio D.J. for the “Bermudian” magazine’s Best of Bermuda and the Gold Awards.  However, more importantly, he takes pride in Power 95’s number one rating and he is equally proud of the station’s brand new studio.

Keevil’s hobbies include collecting art work and cooking, however, his passion is golf.  He can be seen playing 3 to 4 times a week.  He participates in golf tournaments Island-wide and supports various charities by donating his time.
Keevil is the son of the late Joyce and Percival Burgess and is happily married to his beautiful wife of 17 years, Jil, and the proud father of Marlo, his 13-year old daughter.

Keevil’s vision for Bermuda is a nationalistic one, where we take pride in our Island’s culture, heritage and our people.  To achieve this he feels we must accept and love our fellow Bermudians…man, woman and child.
